As Vietnam LGBTQ movement progresses and queer taboos are gradually abolished, modern queer culture is flourishing. But the lack of education on queer visibility in history continues to disconnect the present from the past. Where were we in feudal time? Were there any LGBTQ figures in history? Before the term LGBTQ, what were we? To many, the only way forward is by going back. By taking a look at the past, "Hanoi Queer", a community organization, aims to create a queer-friendly city where people are respected true to who they are and have equal chances in economic, cultural and social life.
